Brief Information about HAEA

  • Brief Background of Hopi Arts & Education Association (HAEA)
    • Hopi Arts & Education Association is a 501(c)(3) non – profit organization.
      • Originated in 2017 under the Hopi Tribe Economic Development Corporation.
    • HAEA Mission:
    • To provide and support educational and artistic opportunities for the Hopi community.
    • HAEA Vision:
      • Provide scholarships for higher educational pursuits.
      • Provide support and opportunities to enhance Hopi artist marketing and visibility.
      • Increase awareness and understanding of Hopi arts and culture.
  • Goals
    • Support the Hopi tribe culture providing scholarships to qualified individuals pursuing college degree or vocational certificate.
    • Promote and cultivate the Hopi artisans by providing art festivals and other opportunities for the artisans to showcase their art and sell their art in a public forum.
    • Establishing partnerships within the Hopi Tribe, City of Flagstaff, NAU, and Northern AZ communities.

  • Scholarship Requirements
    • Open to Hopi High School graduate or current enrolled College/Trade School student.
    • Student must be enrolled with the Hopi Tribe and have an enrollment number.
    • Must have a 2.0 GPA or higher
    • Desire to further their education as a full-time student
    • Plan to pursue a career in general studies programs and vocational technical trades.

    Students applying for a scholarship from the Hopi Arts & Education Association are required to fill out the information below. All requested documentation should be submitted with this online application. All information shared with HAEA is kept confidential and not shared with other parties.

  • Requirements For Scholarship

    Scholarships are open to any Hopi High School graduate or current College / Trade School student. The student must be registered with the Hopi Tribe. Has a desire to further their education as a full-time student. Applicants must carry a grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 or higher and plan to pursue a college degree or vocational certificate.

    Submit your most recent official transcript from your school at the end of academic semester.

    Submission of One (1) letter of recommendation written within the last 6 months. If possible, letters on letterhead are preferred. Letter from family members and relatives will not be accepted.

    Provide a letter of acceptance from the school you have been selected to attend in the Fall of 2024 or provide registered class schedule for Fall of 2024

    A list of all honors, activities, and community service, keeping to a limit of one page.

    Submitting approximately a 450 to 500 words letter, with no grammatical or misspelled words. You must include the following in the letter. (1) Why you are seeking higher education? (2) Your career goals and aspirations? (3) Any additional information that you feel the committee should consider in their selection.
